Those left to honor Bernie’s memory are his wife, JoAnn Bergeson of Newton; son, Bruce (and LaVonda) Bergeson of Towanda, KS; his 3 daughters, Dawn Bergeson of Newton, Tamera (and Jeff) Veldhuizen of Newton, and Sara Bergeson of Newton; 4 grandchildren, Michele, Dylan, Rachel, and Rebecca; his sister, Barbara Ann (and William) Shaw of Milton, Florida; and brother, Clifford Dean (and Nancy) Bergeson of Roseberg, Oregon.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles G. and Kathryn (Havland) Bergeson.
Bernie graduated from Terril High School. He continued his education, taking college courses in Tool and Dye. Bernie was a 4th generagon Blacksmith. He retired from Maytag as a Journeyman Toolmaker in 2001. Bernie was also an Adjunct Tool and Dye Instructor at DMACC.
