Bernice Opal (McCurdy) Buxman, 87, went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2013. She was a resident of Canon Lodge. She was born October 3, 1926 in Beaver, Oklahoma to B.M. “Mac” and Mary (Miller) McCurdy. Bernice married George Buxman on March 18, 1945 in Balko, OK. George, Bernice and their two sons moved to Fremont County in 1956 from Oklahoma. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Saint Josephs Hospital in Florence and for Dr. Hurliman at his hospital in Canon City.
