Bernice Katherine (Petannowitsch) Myers, 75, of Kensington died on Friday, Sep. 11, 2015 at the Hospital for Special Care after battling a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward W. Myers, Jr. of Kensington. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Katherine Sheehan and Joseph Petannowitsch. She attended St. Joseph’s School followed by Mary Immaculate Academy graduating with the class of 1957. She attended the St. Francis School of Nursing, Hartford CT where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She proudly worked at St. Francis Hospital on the Neurosurgical Unit. Later, she worked as cafeteria manager at St. Paul’s School in Kensington, retiring in 2009. Bernice was a member of St. Paul’s Church, the Junior Women’s Club of New Britain where she served as past president, secretary and treasurer. She was a member of the New Britain Garden Club, the New Britain/Berlin Tennis League and the Berlin Bowling League. Survivors include her son Kevin E. Myers and wife Elizabeth (Uricchio) Myers of Newington; three daughters: Elise Myers Lord of Dudley, MA, Kieran Myers Osgood of Newington, Emily Moulton and husband Scott of Kensington, her seven grandchildren: Kathryn Myers, Aarianne Lord, Colin Lord, Aidan Osgood, Garren Osgood, Emma Bell and Liam Moulton. She was predeceased by her sister Carol Ann (Petannowitsch) Novickas.
