Bernice was born August 14, 1915 to William and Lenora (Dederman) Retzlaff in Hadar, Nebraska. She was baptized September 5, 1915 and confirmed May 29, 1929 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran in Hadar. Bernice married Ronald Moss on December 23, 1950 in Stanton, Nebraska. Bernice was a homemaker and wife for the family, but early in her life she worked at Henningsen Foods and as an assistant at various private homes. Her biggest joy in life was her time spent with family. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing rousing card games, Bingo and other games. Bernice loved a good cup of coffee and sweets. She always recounted fond memories of growing up on the farm with her 5 siblings. Bernice saw a lot of changes in the world in her lifetime, and in the end she was surrounded by all her family.
Bernice is survived by her daughters Sharon Lenox, Joy (Mike) Malena, and Jeannie Moss, grandchildren Holly (Joe), Chad (Heather), Heather (Keal), Brent (Rachel), and Sean (Tiffany), 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren, brother Elmer Retzlaff, sister-in-law Sophie Retzlaff, and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, brothers LeRoy and Harry Retzlaff, sisters Verona Kuhl and Irene Stephens, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Chris and Bette Wiese.
