Bernice M. Apple, 87, of Fortville, died March 2, 2011 at the Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born June 3, 1923 in Port Allegheny, PA to the late Harry W. and Georgia A. (Paul) Anderson.
She graduated from the Old Fortville High School and in addition to being a homemaker, also worked at the Fortville Ice Cream Store from 1957 to 1971. She was a member of Psi Iota Xi since 1941 and active in the “Love in Action Group” at the Fortville Christian Church. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling and was a devoted grandmother.
She is survived by her children, all of McCordsville: Dennis G. Apple; Dale L. Apple; Shelley (Russell) Hayse; grandchildren: Denisa M. (Rob) McIntyre; John (Trina) Apple; Courtney (Chris) Clardy; Reggie (Sandy) Hayse; Jason Hayse; and Bradley (Kristen) Hayse; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother Harry (Gay Bee) Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald “Gene” Apple; and sister Phyllis Heche.
