Dudley – Mrs. Bernice Darden Barksdale,72 of 210 North Hereford Dr. gained her wings Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at her home.
Born in Sampson Co., she is the daughter of late John and Rhodie Stevens Darden.
She received her education in the Duplin County School System and was a graduate of Douglass High School. A devoted and loyal supervisor, she retired from the former SunBurst Foods.
Growing up in a Christian home, she realized the importance of having Christ in her life and was a member of Moses Chapel Disciple Church of Christ, Faison.
Her love and legacy will be forever cherished by her husband of 14 years, Clarence Barksdale of the home; son, Antwain Darden of Raleigh; son that she loved as her own, Ricky McCoy(Christy) of Mt. Olive and son, Ricky R. McCoy of Raleigh; two grandsons, Justin Darden of Raleigh and Devin Jones of Raleigh; sister, Bettie Goodman (Atlas) of Mt Olive; three sisters-in-law, Sadie Mae Darden, Janice Darden and Rebecca Darden. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she has been reunited with her siblings, T.I., Willie, Leroy, Joe, Lewis, Milton, William, Linwood, Daniel, Beatrice, Norvella, Ethel and Betty.
A beautiful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend; she will be greatly missed.
