Bernice Anita Best was 93 at the time of her going to be with Lord. She resided at St. Joseph Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Dorchester, MA. She was born in Cambridge, MA to Mildred and Herman Greene. She was married to Kenneth Best, and was 1 of 8 siblings.

She is survived by her son and his wife: Daryl Best and Natacha Best; 2 Grandchildren: Gideon and Sabella Best; siblings: Lawson Greene, Evelyn Green, Grafton Greene, and Yvonne Greene, nieces, Chana Greene, Tenley Terrell; and nephews: Bishop Brian Greene, Kevin Greene, Dale Weeks, Derrick Greene, Ronald Greene, Donald Greene, and great nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband: Kenneth Best, and siblings: Herman (Joe) Greene, Clifford Greene, and Cynthia Green, and nephew: Wane “Skippy” Weeks.

Bernice Anita Best was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and all around personable and generous person, but “don’t cross her”! She was born and educated in Cambridge, MA. After meeting and marrying Kenneth Best, they moved to Brooklyn, New York and started a family. There she worked for and retired from the New York MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority).

She dedicated herself to the Purchasing Dept. where she was usually one of the smartest people in the room.

In 1999, she and Kenneth came back home to Boston, and resided in Hyde Park, MA.

Kenneth passed away on February 20, 2010. Bernice went to join him to be with the Lord on November 12, 2021. They were married for 47 years.
