Bernie Dippolito, 67 of Toms River passed away at home on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ, Bernie graduated from St. Mary’s HS and the College of Santa Fe, New Mexico. His joy in life revolved around his family and his music.
Bernie “The Burn” Dippolito was a special person who spread joy and love to all he came in contact with whether performing on stage, walking on the boardwalk or in the grocery store. Bernie was a musician most of his life performing up and down the Jersey shore with several bands that included Frankie & the Burn, Sam the Band, Sticky Fingers, The G-Men, The Burn and the Jazz Lobsters.
Bernie was truly an inspirational performer, front man, singer, percussionist and mentor. He was always willing to help anyone who asked for his help or advice and did so with care. Bernie taught us all about joy and love and would remind us at every gig with his famous words, “Here’s to your family, your good friends and your health.” Even greater than his love for music was Bernie’s love for his family, especially his loving wife Julie and his 5 children. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony Dippolito.
Surviving is his wife of 22 years Julie B. Dippolito, and his 5 children; Anthony and wife Kim; Jessica; Bernardo Jr. and his wife Carla; Sergio and Julian; his sister Gail and brother Gary; and grandchildren: Sam, Evangel, and Massimo.
