Reverend Bernard Moye of Tampa, Florida passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Reverend Bernard Moye was a native of Quincy, Florida born to Martha Dean Hicks and Charlie Moye. He accepted Christ at an early age and his early Christian experiences were received at St. Hebron A.M.E.
He was a graduate of James A. Shanks High School and enlisted into the United States Army in 1974. After serving in the military, he was Honorably discharged and later held various industrial positions. Reverend Moye was a resident of Tampa for 45 years and he served as a clergy member at Hood Temple A.M.E.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Rose Curry Moye; sisters, Joyce Moye Gains and Barbara Ann Moye Dudley; and brothers, Billy Wayne Moye and Charles Darnell Moye Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory to: a loving mother, Martha Dean Hicks; father and stepmother, Charlie Moye (Edna) of Quincy, FL; daughter, Maria Moye Ingram (Erick) of Savannah, GA; sons, Mario Moye and Bernard C. Moye of Tampa, FL; sisters, Gloria Hicks and Mattie Lucas, both of Quincy, FL, Charlie Ann Moye Jones (Perry) of Chattahoochee, FL, Linda Woods of Jacksonville, FL, Monica Moye, and Latrenda Cooper (Dexter) of Tallahassee, FL; brothers, Jerry Hicks of Atlanta, GA, Lorenzo Hicks (Emma) of Campbellsburg, KY, Anthony Moye and Charlie Moye Jr.
