Bernard “Bud” McMillan, age 91, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away August 1, 2015 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Grand Junction.

Born January 26, 1924,  in Kemmer, Wyoming, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Reed McMillan.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served on 3 different aircraft carriers during World War II.  

He met and married the love of his life, Louise Elizabeth Speck. The loving couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 12 2015.

Bud had been employed as an installer for theTelephone CO and over the years had been involved in many other fascets in the communications industry.  Perhaps the most significant aspect of Bud’s working career was building the communications system for the Signal Corp. to be used whenever the President of the United States traveled outside of Washington D. C.  Having built the system and knowing its operation, Bud was desiginated to travel to other states to do the communications for the U.S. Presidents as they traveled. Bud worked for and with Presidents Eisenhour, Johnson and Nixon.
