Bernard (Barney) Klumper age 82 went to be with the Lord on Friday October 17, 2014 at his home in Berryville, AR. He was born September 2, 1932 in Nobles County Minnesota to Dirk and Gertie (Joungetjes) Klumper as one of nine children. He graduated from Edgerton Christian High School in 1950. Following High School, he joined the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country for 3 years. On December 15, 1955 he was united in marriage with Ellen Zemke. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage, six children, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Before his retirement Barney was employed as a salesman for Meeks Lumber Company in Berryville. He had also worked a number of years in sales and delivering supplies at Stone Lumber Company. He was a master, skilled craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands. In his spare time he also enjoyed gardening, fishing and listening to country and gospel music. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Klumper of the home, daughters, Cheryl Ward and husband Mitch of Churchill TN, Lisa Blanchette and husband Marc of Berryville, Michelle Vandegriff and husband Kelly of Beckville, TX and Jodi Weber of Cabot, one son, Gregg Klumper and wife Becky of Leroy Al, brothers, Gerit Klumper and wife Lois Jean of Edgerton, Minn. Bert Klumper and wife Henrietta of Edgerton Minn, Henry Klumper of Edgerton, Case Klumper and wife Katie of Trosky Minn, Andrew Klumper and wife Willi of Artesia, CA, one sister Liz Van Keppel of Demotte, Indiana, 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Barney is also preceded in death by one infant daughter, sister, Marie Hartke and infant sister, Francis Klumper, brothers-in-law, Bernard Van Keppel and Leon Hartke, son-in-law, Patrick Weber, nephew, Byron Van Keppel and infant niece Janelle Hartke.
