Bernard Jerome Kerbawy, 58, formerly of Saginaw, died February 27, 2010, in Kansas City, Missouri.  Cancer.  Bernard was born October 8, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Page N. and Ruth M. Kerbawy.  He graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1969.  He received a Congressional appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point from which he graduated in 1973.  He resigned his commission in 1978 with the rank of Captain.  Bernard was active in Youth Ministry in the Archdiocese of Seattle, Washington, following the army.

Bernard is survived by 2 sisters: Loretta (Chuck) Sova and Ellen Suarez; and 5 brothers: Thomas (Sharmella) Kerbawy, Fr. Kevin Kerbawy, Robert (Maria del Carmen) Kerbawy, Colin (Marybeth) Kerbawy and Gregory (Peg) Kerbawy.  Also surviving are 15 nieces and nephews, 5 grandnieces.  Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, and a nephew.  Memorials may be  given to St. Louis Connect Care Clinic, St. Vincent de Paul Society– St. Louis Council, Fr. Dempsey’s (House) Charities, or Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care.
