Bernard “Bud” Gifford, age 92, of Burt, Iowa died on Tuesday October 6, 2015 at the Algona Manor in Algona. Bernard “Bud” Fredrick Gifford, the son of Jacob Fredrick and Hilda Helena (Fechner) Gifford, was born in Burt, Iowa on July 5, 1923. As a young man, Bud worked for various farmers. In his later years worked in the maintenance department at St. Ann’s Hospital in Algona.
He was united in marriage to Jean Dorothy Scott on November 23, 1955. After her death he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mitchel at the Burt Presbyterian Church. In Bud’s spare time he loved to go fishing and hunting.
Bud is survived by two sister’s Joan Gifford of Burt and Sherry (Jim) Schmidt of West Bend along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives and five sisters, Beulah Langerman, Peggy Allen, Martha Gifford, Sally Alborn and Jean Grubb.
