Born, November 1, 1919 in Warfordsburg, PA to the late Job Truax and Catherine Florence Andrews Barnhart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Josephine “Jo” Barnhart in 2009.
He was a 1937 graduate of Hancock High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII, he was an iconic American Hero.
He attended St. James Brethren Church St. James, MD.
He was a life member of Morris Frock Post #42 American Legion of Hagerstown, MD where he was Post Commander, County Commander, District Commander and Sgt. Of Arms for the State of Maryland, life member of VFW of Hagerstown, MD, IORM Tribe #84 Williamsport, MD, and 34th Infantry Division Association.
He was a member of American Postal Worker’s National Association of retired Federal Employees, Combat Infantry Association, and Antietam Fire Co. of Hagerstown, MD.
He was a beloved husband and father.
