Bernard Belanger, 77, of Newington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and a friend on Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Caribou, Maine, he was a longtime Newington resident and a member of Holy Spirit Church. Bernard owned and operated B + B Overhead Door, Inc. for over 40 years. He also served as a volunteer fireman for Newington for many years. He loved camping and enjoyed visiting Florida, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. A loving father, uncle and grandfather, he leaves his daughters Gail Brown and Robert Rose of Newington, Denise Griffith and her husband Kurt of Wethersfield and Christine Brazalovich and her husband Hal of Newington, his niece Brenda Belanger and her son Daniel Criniti of Newington, and his five grandchildren, Melissa, Joshua, Kyle, Brenden and Zach. He also leaves his siblings, Joel Belanger of Manchester, Nelson Belanger and his wife Rose, Walter Belanger, Wilson Belanger and his wife Louise all of Southington, and Richard Belanger and Joe Aquaviva of ME, many nieces and nephews and many close friends including his best friends Tom and Pia Lillis of Berlin. He was predeceased by 12 siblings.
