Bernadine M. Girres, 93 of West Bend died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the West Bend Care Center. Bernadine Marie Girres, the daughter of Andrew and Theresa (Koppi) Yoch was born December 24, 1915 in West Bend, Iowa. She received her education at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic School and graduated from the West Bend High School in 1932. On September 21, 1937 she was united in marriage with Cornelius “Dick” Girres in West Bend. The couple lived and farmed in the West Bend area during their married lives, moving to town in 1973. Survivors include her children: Gerald (Joan) Girres of Bode, IA; Ron (Judy) Girres of West Bend, IA;Carol (Joe)Eoriatti of West Bend,IA; Ray (Kathy) Girres of Plymouth, IN; Rich (Linda) Girres of West Bend, IA; and Father Ed Girres, St. Cecelia Parish, Algona, IA; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sister Eileen Reding of West Bend, IA and brother Emil Yoch of West Bend, IA. Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents,husband Dick in 2007, and brothers Alphonsus and Clarence. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church and the CDA of the church.
