Bernadine E. Ortiz passed peacefully and into the arms of her Heavenly Father on August 19, 2022. It is absolutely certain that the Lord looked upon her face and greeted her with arms wide open as he proclaimed “Well done daughter you are a good and faithful servant”. Born to Pedro and Dorothy Mascarenas on Jan. 14, 1959 in Trinidad, CO. Bernadine loved to cook, she would make any dish she put her mind to. Bernadine loved being in the mountains with her husband and fur babies. She loved her husband, brothers and sister more than herself and was always quick to demonstrate it through her words and actions. She was a woman of faith and revered the name of the Lord. Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Dorothy Mascarenas; in-laws Gilbert and Naomi Ortiz; sisters Geneivie Helm and Lavinnia Vialpando; brother Daniel Mascarenas; sisters-in-law Lillian Mascarenas and Debra Mascarenas and brother-in-law Joe (Sonny) Romero. She is survived by her loving husband Sterling Ortiz; daughter Kimberly (Adam) Casados; her siblings Martha Romero, Luis Mascarenas, Phyllis Helm, Pedro (Bernadette) Mascarenas Jesus (Lorraine) Mascarenas, Connie Mascarenas and Anabel Mascarenas; sisters-in-law Sandee Ortiz and Shawn Ortiz; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
