From there, her family moved to the small town of Floyd, NM near Portales where she met J.C., her husband to be. Ruth was 16 and J.C. was 19 when they married and remained together for 66 years until J.C. passed away in 2003. After J. C. retired from Phillips Petroleum, they moved from Borger, Texas to Fair Oaks in 1989 where they enjoyed many church activities and helped build the Boerne Senior Citizens Center. They cherished their church family and were blessed by their friendship. After J.C. passed away in 2003, Ruth continued to live independently in their house in Fair Oaks until she was 88 and then became a resident of the Morningside Ministries Cibolo House Assisted Living where she resided until the time of her death.
