BERDENA McGHEE, 82, a longtime resident of Lordsburg passed away Saturday October 17, 2009 at Sunshine Haven Nursing Home.
Berdena was born July 8, 1927 in Naponee, Nebraska to Guy W. and Pearl L. (Davis) Chesnut. She married Donald A. McGhee on July 11, 1946 in Denver, Colorado and shortly thereafter they came to Lordsburg. Berdena was a housewife, worked at the Post Office for a short time and assisted her husband in the Mining business. She was a member of the Tyrone Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star and the Albuquerque Shrine #1 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She is survived by her children, Steven McGhee, his wife Cynthia and their children, Berdena’s grandchildren, Andrew and Berdena of Oracle, AZ, Charles McGhee and his wife Betty of Lordsburg, Patricia McGhee of Deming; sisters, Maxine Burton (Charles) of Denver, CO, Erma Burton of Arvada, CO, Arlene Wohleb of Tucson, AZ, Elaine Guilliams of Vienna, MO; brother, Willis Chesnut (Irene) of Columbus, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Donald A. Mcghee, her parents, brothers, Harold Chesnut and Verlyn Chesnut and 1 sister Glada St. Clair.
