Bennie Louis Owens was born September 12, 1948 in Lawrence County to the late Inez Owens and the late Jerry Burgess. He departed this life on June 15, 2012 at the Huntsville Hospital.
He was a member of Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Moulton High School and was employed by a wonderful friend, Mr. Bill Lee at Lee Construction Company for 45 years.
Bennie leaves to cherish his memory: his sisters, Blondell Jackson (Joe) and Marion Echols (Pat) of Moulton; two brothers, Willie Ross Owens of Moulton, and Kenneth Owens of Richmond, VA; three aunts, Willie M. Phelps and Bessie M. Owens of Moulton, and Euyla Owens of Nashville, TN; two nieces, Necia Sharpley and Amberly Echols; one nephew, Christian Echols; great- nephew, Dalen Anderson; great-niece, Da’Koyia Anderson, cousins and other relatives and wonderful friends.
