Benjamin H. Adams, 64, of Chestnut Street, Franklin, formerly of Emlenton, died unexpectedly of natural causes early Friday morning, February 27, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Adams was born in Oak Ridge on august 29, 1944. He was the son of James and Ruby Adams Galbraith.

He was a member of the Big Bend United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended Franklin Area Schools. He worked most of his life as a self-employed carpenter in Venango County.

Surviving are two children, Jeff Adams and his companion Jodi of Knox and Dawn Fletcher and her husband Daniel of Emlenton, and their mother, Mr. Adams’ former wife, Linda Adams Gerstner of Emlenton. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Nick Adams, Morgan Adams, Cassidy Black, and Michael, Blaine, Dustin, and Johnathon Fletcher. Also surviving is a brother, James Galbraith and five sisters, Peg Klepher, Mary Ann Neiswonger, Betty Gladd, Rose Kingsley, and Kay Gallagher. A number of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin H. Adams II.
