Williamsport, MD – Benjamin C. McKee, 83, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Williamsport Retirement Village in Williamsport, MD.
He was born on November 21, 1936 in Hagerstown, MD to the late David and Rose Viola Chaney McKee.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce E. (Moore) McKee in November of 2005.
He was a 1954 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD.
Benjamin was employed by the State of Maryland after many years of service until his retirement. After retiring from the State he was employed at Fort Frederick State Park for 15 years as a seasonal employee.
He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church in Williamsport, MD. He belonged to the Methodist Men.
Benjamin was involved with Troop 17 BSA Williamsport as a Committee Advisor.
He enjoyed walks on the C&O Canal Towpath, birdwatching, and fishing. Benjamin was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his son Matthew C. McKee and his wife Jennifer of Greencastle, PA; sisters Nellie Nesmith, Hilda Brindle, and Nancy Pierce; brothers Bruce McKee, Oakiee McKee, and Warren McKee; granddaughter Rylee and grandson Fisher; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter Kimberly S. McKee; sisters Grace, Isabelle, and Betty; brothers Richard, Herman, David, Preston, Thomas, Lewis, and Edward.
