Benjamin Alexander Mugg, 30 years old, died at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado on Sunday, August 11, 2019, after surviving a traumatic accident on April 7, 2014. Benjamin fought the good fight and kept the faith, however he finally surrendered to his injuries.
Born August 10, 1989 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, he lived in Prairie Village and Shawnee, Kansas, prior to moving to Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Following graduation from Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 2008, Benjamin graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering in 2012. While there, he worked as a student intern and was a two-term President of the student chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. Upon graduation, he joined Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers in Denver, Colorado as a traffic and roadway design engineer. Benjamin was KIE’s first hire straight out of college. Benjamin showed equal enthusiasm in life and in his professional career, excelling in both and bringing immense joy and laughter to all fortunate to know and love him.
Survivors include his parents Jerry and Kristin Mugg and sisters Emma and Chloe Mugg, all from Highlands Ranch; grandmother Joyce Mugg from St. Petersburg, Florida; grandparents Keith and Glynnis Kunzler from Chaffee, Missouri; and great grandmother Ruth Corcoran from Portland, Oregon. Benjamin was preceded in death by his grandfather James E. Mugg.
