Benjamen David Gassaway was born on January 2, 1969 to Tom Elkins Gassaway, Jr and Susan Stewart. He graduated from Littleton High School in 1987 and went on to graduate from UNC in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. He spent many of his early 20’s playing music, and was in the band Halfway There. He met Kimberly Jenkins, and by 2001 the two were married and had their only child, Katelyn Rene Gassaway. Benjamen was a loving and devoted father and supported Katelyn in anyway he could. He spent many years working at Mile High Card Company as the auction coordinator.
