CONNERSVILLE- Benjamin Wayne Cox Sr., 66, passed away unexpectedly at his home early Thursday morning August 16, 2018. A son of Wade Hampton and Mildred Marie (Lucas) Cox, Benjamin was born in New Castle, Indiana on July 9, 1952. Ben was raised in rural Cambridge City and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1971. While in high school he was active in the Future Farmers of America. A veteran of the United States Army, Ben served his country while stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on June 18, 1974. Ben was a lifelong farmer, starting at an early age helping his dad on the family farm. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Formerly of Cambridge City, he has made his home in Connersville since December of 1992. Ben worked at Visteon in Connersville as a furnace operator for 27 years and for the past 9 years, has been employed as a truck driver by Fraley-Schilling Trucking in Rushville. In his leisure, Ben liked to play euchre and loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, the former Debbie Pflum. They were married in Connersville on July 9, 1993. 4 children, Lora Cox of Greens Fork, Tonya (Joe) Knott of Cambridge City, Benjamin Cox Jr. (fiancée, Tracy Parson) of Williamsburg, Ryan (Gail) Grubbs of Falmouth; 13 grandchildren, Trevor, Molly, Brittany, Jessica, Tasha, Ashley, Albert, Kaitlyn, Luke, Brent, Alexis, Wyatt and Jaxson; 5 great grandchildren, Gage, Nevaeh, Alden, Ava and Hunter; 2 sisters, Ann (Deb) Cox of Waterford, MI and Nancy (Rick) Keasling of Cambridge City; father in-law, Kenny Pflum; brother and sister in-law, Mike Pflum and Sherri (Russell) Gettinger; nieces, nephews and uncles. Ben was preceded in death by his parents and mother in-law, Peggy (Hamilton) Pflum.
