Belen Saberon Abu-abu of Ridgewood, New York got her wings and went to walk with the angels on October 29, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. She was 69 years old.
Born on June 12, 1953 in Manila, Philippines to Pedro Saberon and Renata Ponseca. She worked as a caregiver for elderly for many years before retiring in 2021. She married the love of her life for 43 years, Silvino Abu-abu on February 14, 1979 in Puerto Prinsesa City, Philippines.
It would be wrong to say that Belen lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. When anyone else would have broken, Belen stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly like. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.
Belen is survived by her loving husband, Silvino Abu-abu, Jr.; a cherished mother of Leandro S. Abu-abu, Irene Amor S. Abu-abu, Silvino Abu-abu, III, Ma. MArtha Silline Abu-abu, Mary Evangeline Abu-abu, Ashley Joan Abu-abu, Camille Fresnosa, Irish Ann Fresnosa and Joy Saberon; a dear sister of Teresa Buendia, Elizabeth Boncocan, Rosemarie Saberon, Elena Cezar, Alexander Saberon and Teodorico Saberon; a proud grandmother of Deanne Louise Abu-abu, Lord Bastian Abu-abu, Maybelle Anne Conception, Liyan Jade Abu-abu, Josef Nicole Abu-abu, Hailey Anne Rocha, Leandro Sebastian Abu-abu, Chris John Michael Abu-abu, Tristan Gabriel Abu-abu, Jose Vincent Ramos, Kyros Cody Fresnosa and Zeth Arkin Gular and Anaiah.
