Becky Sue (Bleuer) Prentice, 63, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021. Becky was born on November 19, 1957 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to parents LeRoy and Anna Zita (Reding) Bleuer. She was raised in West Bend graduated high school there. She had three kids and raised them for over 20 years in Algona. In 2003, Becky caught up with her kindergarten sweetheart, Jay Prentice, at a high school reunion. It was love at second sight. In 2004, they moved to Colorado and got married, uniting two families of four into one family of eight. Becky and Jay moved to Washington in 2013 but Becky hated the rain so Jay moved her to Idaho in 2020. Becky never missed an opportunity to talk to a stranger, or even hug them in a Walmart parking lot. She loved walking through antique stores hunting for treasures, reading western novels and maybe more than that, she loved going into book stores and searching for the last few missing books to her collection. Above all she loved her husband and her family. She would drop everything to help out a loved one at a moments notice. She often travelled across the country to help out her kids and always made sure to sneak her grandchildren sweets when their parents weren’t looking. Becky was extraordinarily proud of her four children that served or are serving in the Navy and Air Force and would brag about them often. Becky is survived by her loving husband, Jay Prentice of Blackfoot, ID; her children and their spouses: Mike Christensen of Bonners Ferry, ID, Mark Christensen of Belleville, IL and LeAnn Rosell of Evans, GA; two children through marriage; Terri Ann Prentice of Vancouver WA, and Jason Prentice of Fort Walton Beach, FL, 14 grandchildren and her brothers and sisters: Linda Curry of LuVerne, IA, Teresa Bleuer of West Bend , IA, Pat Thomas of LuVerne, IA, Bill Bleuer of West Bend, IA, David Bleuer of West Bend, IA, Joe Bleuer of Charleston, SC and Ernie Bleuer of West Bend, IA, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronald and Steve “Beaver” Bleuer, nephew Lynn Thomas, and stepdaughter Nikki Prentice. In remembrance of Becky’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Fisher House Foundation in her name. Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital.
