Beatrice M. (Bea) Beach, 94, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Williamsport Home.
Bea retired as the cafeteria manager at the former Stevens Junior High School, was a 79 year member of the St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for 60 years, was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, a Eucharistic minister and a former Sunday school teacher in the Children’s Department. She was a member of the Messiah and Newberry senior citizens and a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the American Rescue Workers. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework, crafts, cards and bingo and especially loved to sing and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born October 30, 1914 in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of Joseph R. and Clara G. Baney Bowes.
Surviving are her daughters, Betty Lou (James Sr.) Hamm of Linden and Connie L. (Wayne) Hepler of Montoursville; grandchildren, Larry Michael (Lisa) Richardson, Michelle L. Salsberry, Scott A. (Heather) Richardson, Matthew J. (Elizabeth) Hamm, Wayne D. (Shirlene) Hepler, Mark R. (Lisa) Hepler and Christopher M. Hepler; a stepgranddaughter, Susan D. Carter; and great-grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Bethany, Carly and Olivia Richardson, Amanda Harper, Ashley Salsberry, Kenley Hamm, Kaden, Keara, Kambrie, Jessica, Jamie, Brennan and Brock Hepler.
Bea was predeceased by her husband, Harry F. Beach in 1989 and siblings, Richard Bowes, Annabelle Bowes, Myrtle Stover, Jane Tobias and Gloria Keister.
