Beatrice L. Burgess-Piper, age 90 of Midland died at her residence on Saturday November 12, 2011. The daughter of the late Arthur and Marion (Bergman) Chaney was born on December 27, 1920 in Blairsville PA. She was raised and educated in Saginaw and worked as a Nurses Aid in Midland, Clare, Dayton, Ohio and Indiana. Beatrice married William L. Piper on May 18, 1975 in Midland and he predeceased her on May 5, 1991. Beatrice was a member of the Clare Rebekah Lodge # 167 and served as a Noble Grand Officer in 1963 and 1990. She was also proud of her L. A. P. M. with Canton #55 and was a Past President. She was an avid doll collector and loved to sew, making many Prom Dresses and clothes for her family and will be very much missed by family and friends.
Beatrice is survived by sons Fred (Phyllis) Burgess of Dayton, Ohio, Ernest (Kerry) Burgess of Midland, Kennith (Arlene) Burgess of Midland, Edward (Sue) Burgess of Augusta, GA, Robert (Chris) Piper of Latrobe, PA, and Michael Piper of Midland. She is also survived by daughters Cynthia (Ken) Conway of Fairborn, OH, Carol (David) Neal of Nelsonville, Ohio and many grand and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Fred, Ken and Robert Cheney and her first husband Ernest Floyd Burgess Sr. and great granddaughter Cassidy Lynn Thomas. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place.
