Beatrice Holloway was born in Lexington, Mississippi on March 31, 1935 to Ben and Pecolia Nalls who preceded her in death.

Beatrice accepted Christ at an early age.

Beatrice attended elementary and high school at Ambrose in Lexington, Mississippi and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi, where she was a part of the first graduating class.

Beatrice started her professional career at Lexington Attendance Center where she taught for 9 years.  Upon moving to Chicago in 1968, she secured a teaching position at Saint Raphael Catholic School where she taught for 15 years.  She ended her professional career at Evangelical Christian School where she taught for over 19 years. Beatrice’s educational career spanned over 43 years.  During this time, she taught many of her nieces and nephews, planting seeds and setting a strong foundation that touched kids in and out of the classroom.

Beatrice married Samuel Holloway, who preceded her in death, in 1962.  Samuel remained the love of her life and was passionately known as “Honey.” Every day at 3:30pm, Beatrice and her brothers Willie and David would faithfully watch Jeopardy together via the telephone.  Her other pastimes included eating cheese and completing crossword puzzles, which kept her mind sharp as a needle.

Family over everything is the motto that Beatrice lived by.  It was evident by her outpouring of love and support for her entire family.

Beatrice departed this life on April 22, 2020.  The legacy of her love will continue.  She leaves to cherish her memory her only child Perry Kirkland, her two brothers Willie Nalls and David Nalls (Patricia), one aunt Pearl Magee and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
