Obituary of Beatrice A. Muehlenbeck
On January 15, 2014 Beatrice Muehlenbeck was taken by her Lord and Savior to her heavenly home. She was born on January 1, 1920 to John and Hattie (Wenzel) Langlois in Flint, Michigan. She attended grade school at St. John’s Lutheran in Rogers City, MI, graduating from Rogers City High School. She then came to Saginaw, and on June 18, 1938 she married Melvin F. Meyer, they had two sons. Seaman Meyer was killed at Leyte, P.I. on October 24, 1944, on the USS Sonoma. On November 9, 1945 she married William Jr. Muehlenbeck. Bea enjoyed cooking and making a home for her family. She learned Braille and was accepted as a certified Braille transcriber by the Library of Congress, doing Sunday school lessons and magazines for the Lutheran Missions for the Blind. For 27 years, they were sent to Hong Kong, India, and the U.S.A. She was a past member of Valpo University and a member of Peace Lutheran Church for 70 years.
She leaves her husband, William J. Muehlenbeck and sons: Mel and Patricia Muehlenbeck, William John and Nancy Muehlenbeck, and Brent Muehlenbeck Sr; grandchildren: Mark Muehlenbeck, Farmington Hills, MI, Matt and Cynthia Muehlenbeck, Bass Lake, CA and Molly and Tom Muehlenbeck Hicks of Fenton, MI, Kerry Muehlenbeck, and Kelly and Brian Adams. There are 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as two step-sisters: Patricia Eubanks and Jackie Schiller; and step-brother Robert Martin of Lum, MI.
Bea was predeceased by her sister, Marguerite Davis; two brothers: Wilford and Earl Langlois; and grandson, Brent Muehlenbeck, Jr.
