Barrett W. Whittemore ll , age 80 of Dalton, Georgia Passed away Monday September 14, 2020. Barrett was the son of the late Barrett W. and Ollie Townsend Whittemore.
He is survived by B J Whittemore, Judson and Judy Whittemore, nieces and loved cousins. Prior to 1977 Barrett worked for Easter Air Lines in Corporate Industrial and Personnel relations then promoted to Manager Administrative Services Engineering and Maintenance Division. He also contracted as an itinerant photographer. Upon returning to Dalton in 1977 Barrett was involved in property management and development.
Barrett was Chief Magistrate Judge of Whitfield County from December 1991 – December 2008. He then served as Senior Judge for Walker County from January 2009 to 2018. He was a consulting associate for Whittemore Associates from 1982 to 1990 and 2009 to present. Barrett was involved in many judicial activities and served as Chair to the Magistrate Courts Training Council. He served as a member of the advisory board to First Steps through Family Support Council.
