Redkey-Barney Ray Maynard, 59, passed away early Sunday morning, July 25, 2010, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Muncie on December 30, 1950, the son of Russell Eugene and Mary Margaret (Carter) Maynard.
Barney is a 1969 graduate of Muncie Central High School. Mr. Maynard had been a Fork Lift Driver for Indiana Glass in Dunkirk for 25 years. Currently he was serving the Alphabet Manufacturing of Portland in the Job Setting Dept. He was an avid Indiana University sports fan and also loved watching the Indianapolis Colts.
Survivors include his two sons, Michael Ray Maynard and David Maynard both of Muncie; his daughter, Christy Maynard (fiance’-Ariens Dennis), Muncie; three grandchildren, Alaysia, Erin, and Iyohnna Dennis all of Muncie; Former wife, Iona (Craig)Maynard (companion-Ron Austin), Muncie; his brother, Rusty Maynard (wife-Mary), Ohio; his sister, Sandy Hughes, Greenfield; a special granddaughter, Michaela Robbins, Redkey; companion, Patty Ann Burk, Portland; two special friends Wilma Miller, Ohio and Robbie Vore, Redkey; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Elijah Maynard in 1998; his beloved dog, Otis.
