Barney H. “Buddy” Beasley, 63, of Palatka, passed from this life on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the Pavilion at Crescent City following an extended illness. Born in Tampa, Buddy lived most all his life in Palatka and was a 1976 graduate of Interlachen High School where played basketball, football, and baseball. Buddy worked 10 years at Seminole Electric and then transitioned to owning and operating Beasley Lawn Service for 8 years.
Following this, Buddy worked as a safety inspector with Saulsbury Electric Company in North Dakota and Texas for 10 years. While residing in Florida, Buddy helped coach at Interlachen High School and as an assistant coach at Pedro Mendez High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palatka where he enjoyed playing on the softball team years ago. Buddy was an avid golfer and a member and past president of the Palatka Men’s Golf Association. He was also an avid Florida Gator fan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Tyre, and a sister, Nancy Yeomans Jones.
Buddy is survived by a son, Brock Beasley of Palatka, a step-son Cody Owens (Kelly) of Palatka and 3 sisters, Dottie Scruggs (Joe) of St. Augustine, Jeanne Merwin of Palatka and Penny White of St. Augustine, and several nieces and nephews and the mother of his son, Belinda Beasley of Palatka.
