Barbara Torrey MacAllaster, age 87 of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Archie Freeman MacAllaster, II, passed away at home in the tender embrace of her children, Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Born in Ottawa, Canada, the daughter of the late Arthur Starratt Torrey and Josephine Leonard Torrey, she had been a Fairfield resident since 1963. She graduated from the Netherwood School for Girls in New Brunswick, Canada and received her Bachelors Degree from St. Lawrence University in 1951. Mrs. MacAllaster later received her graduate degree from Chamberlain School of Design in Boston and operated her own business, Barbara T. MacAllaster Interiors.
