Barbara was a native of Chatham County, retired with Black & Decker and a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. She was preceded in death her first husband, Robert Simmons, father, Lester Ferree, mother, Lillian Murray Ferree Turpin, sons, Dwayne Simmons, Douglas Simmons, brother, Larry Ferree and sister, Doris Wallace, granddaughter, Dana Simmons.
