Barbara (McKee) Shields, 88, of Anderson, passed away on March 23, 2018 at home.
Barbara was born in Pendleton to William and Ester (Grubbs) McKee. She resided most of her life in Anderson, living just the last two years with family in Hebron, Indiana.
Barbara graduated from Anderson High School and attended Ball State Teachers College. She worked briefly for General Motors before marrying Glen Shields in 1951.
Barbara enjoyed being a member of a Home Economics Club, Garden Club, and playing bridge. She also enjoyed boating, swimming, and participated in “Aquaticus” while at Ball State. She invested countless hours in her children and grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by children Doug (Cynthia) Shields and Debra (Charles) Wheatley; grandchildren Tim (Holli) Shields, Matt (Kiley) Wheatley, Erini Shields, Hannah (Andrew) Jeffreys, Rachel Shields, Abby Shields and Lydia Shields; great grandchildren Gracie Shields, Miles Wheatley, Arden Shields, Ainsley Shields and Alden Jeffreys; brothers Bill (Susie) McKee and Bob (Carol) McKee; and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Glen Shields; father and mother, William and Ester McKee; and daughter-in-law, Karen Shields.
