Barbara Schubert Wazorko, 95, of Plainville, died peacefully on May 10 at Brittany Farms Health Center.
Widow of Thomas “Tim” Wazorko, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Buys) Schubert.
A lifelong Plainville resident, she worked at General Electric Company in Plainville for many years prior to her retirement.
Kind and considerate, she was a master gardener and seamstress who had a quick wit and a helping hand for everyone. A member of the famed “Rogers Bakery Crowd,” she was always the one with a smile, and made sure each of her grandchildren were regularly treated to the special breakfast there of chocolate milk and a chocolate-covered doughnut. She enjoyed eating out, traveling, a good polka and a decent Brandy Alexander.
She was predeceased by her son, Tom Wazorko, her daughter, Linda Witkin and her four sisters, Olive Diaz, Verona West, Eleanor Yacobellis and Peg Douglas.
She leaves her daughter-in-law, MaryEllen Fillo Wazorko; five grandchildren and their spouses, Quinn and Ted Christopher, Christopher and Raegan Wazorko and Tabitha and Justin Manafort, all of Plainville; Cathy and Brian Thiem of New Hartford and Donna and Doug Brown of Rhode Island; eight great-grandchildren, Haley and Austin Brown, Olivia , Lillian and Amelia Wazorko, and Samantha, Justin and Tommi Manafort, and many nieces and nephews.
