Barbara Pfeffer, age 67 of Burt, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at Ava’s Hospice Home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Barbara J. Pfeffer, the daughter of Robert A. and Mary Beth (Coffin) Hamilton, was born on March 1, 1952 in Algona, Iowa. Barbara graduated from Burt High School in 1970. On September 4, 1982 Barbara was united in marriage with Craig Pfeffer at their home in Burt. Barbara was a cook for Exceptional Opportunities until her retirement in 2011. She had lots of friends there and enjoyed her work. Barbara loved to play cards with her family including 500, cribbage, canasta, playing Yahtzee with friends, reading, going to the casino, camping and relaxing around a fire, fishing, coffee with her friends and time with her family and grandchildren. Barbara was a fun, people person and her faith was important to her. Left to share Barbara’s memory are her husband of 37 years, Craig of Burt; children, Amber (Jason) Murra of Canyon, TX and Patrick Pfeffer of Emmetsburg; four grandchildren, Jacob, Cameron, Makala and Carson; siblings, Roberta Rios of Hurst, TX and Mike (Jill) Hamilton of Burt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pam Hamilton of Grand Junction, CO, Norma Murphy of Algona, Lynn (Dick) Miller of Algona, Luke (June) Pfeffer of Algona and Henry (Linda) Pfeffer Jr. of Algona and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Hamilton; mother and father-in-law, Henry and Verna Pfeffer and brothers-in-law, Brian Pfeffer (in infancy), N.C. Rios and Mark Pfeffer.
