Barbara Jean Patterson, daughter of the late Leila Mae & Junious Patterson, was born on Monday, April 2, 1951, in Aiken, SC. She quietly and swiftly transitioned on Thursday, August 31, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was a 1971 graduate of Martha Schofield High. At an early age, Barbara was baptized at Mt. Harris Missionary Baptist Church. While attending Mt. Harris, she volunteered with the Love Camp Summer Program, working in the Teen Class. Barbara worshiped at Mt. Harris faithfully until her health began to fail.
She worked for 19 years at Vaucluse Mills. Barbara’s work history includes Aiken Industries, Fairfield Inn, and Khadijah’s Fish & More. Barbara’s past-time would include her reading, doing crossword puzzles, cooking, and shopping. Her sweet and loving ways will be missed by all. We are confident that she is free from suffering and has new home over in Glory.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Junious and Leona Patterson, Sr., maternal grandparents, Wilts and Neila Folks; four brothers, Woodrow, Earnest, Frank and John Patterson.
Those left to cherish sweet memories are her loving nephew and niece, Shawn (Monica) Patterson, Aiken, SC; three sisters, Bernice Patterson, and Gail (Anthony) Tyler, both of Aiken, SC and Lola Mae Patterson, Columbia, SC; three brothers, Theodore Patterson and Earl (Rev. Cathy) Patterson, both of Aiken, SC and James Patterson, Columbia, SC; a special friend, Priscilla Patterson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend
