We remember her as a proud teacher, gracious hostess, devoted wife to Bill and loving grandma to Kim, Kara, Sophia and Anthony.
Barbara was a teacher to her core. She and Bill left Indiana for a new life in Colorado in 1957. After their children arrived, Barbara started classes at the University of Colorado in order to finish her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1974. This began a career that she loved: educating high school students in the Denver Public School system. In 1983, she earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Denver University. She cared deeply for her students and worked to inspire each one to live out their full potential.
She was also a consummate hostess. Who hasn’t felt the welcoming spirit of her home and been greeted with her cheerful smile? She loved to entertain friends and family, hosting many memorable celebrations, both large and small.
