LAKELAND – Barbara Marlene Robison, PhD, 73, passed away February 11, 2013, as a result of complications of cancer treatments.
Barbara was born March 22, 1939 in Kingston, Jamaica. She earned a PhD from Cambridge University in England and started her career in the sugar cane industry in Jamaica. After immigrating to the United States in 1977, she eventually turned her focus to financial planning and was employed by Ameriprise, where she served as a financial planner.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Anthony “Tony” Robison, in 2003. She is survived by her sons, Kevin and Glen; daughters-in-law, Eve Whitney-Robison and Denise Simons Robison; and grandchildren Keller, Mirren, Amanda and Karl Robison.
Barbara’s family wishes to express their gratitude to family and friends during this difficult period.
