Barbara Louise Davis, a long time resident of Kakamazoo, died on June 13 at Friendship Village. She would have been 92 on June 20.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard L. Davis and Beulah Hunter Davis and her brother, W.H. Davis (Nancy Farnsworth,wife).

Surviving are her sister, Nancy Davis Reed (Russell Reed, husband) of Ypsilanti, Nancy Farnsworth Davis of Novi, eight nieces, nephews and seventeen great nieces, nephews and beloved friend, Ruth Eisman. Barbara spent her whole career as a teacher and social worker in the Kalamazoo Public Schools.

She was a talented artist and writer. Her carved wood mural, done while a student at WMU, can be seen above the fireplace in Siedschlag Dormitory at Western Michigan University. She wrote and illustrated several children’s books. Several other illustrations were done by Barbara for another writer. She was very devoted and loving to her family and will be greatly missed.
