Barbara Lee Barner Wade was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 1, 1931. She was the daughter of Lillie Mae Barner and Hunter Scarbrooke.
She received her primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public School System. She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School. She later became employed by The Indianapolis Public School System, working as a Teachers’ Aide at School #56 and School #26 for a short period of time.
Barbara professed a hope for Christ at an early age.
A loving mother and grandparent, she thoroughly enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Barbara Lee Wade departed this life on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at the age of eighty-eight years of age. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Wade, and both of her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, which includes her seven sons, Otis L. Griffin- deceased (Barbara), Darryl Barner (Vivian–deceased), Michael Hooten (Francine), Charles Wade (Virgie), Carlos Wade (Kentryce), John Wade, Steven Wade –deceased, and four daughters, Darlene Barner, Debra Griffin, Barbara Barner (Mark) and Michelle Wade, a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, three generations of nieces and nephews, many other relatives and a host of lifelong friends.
