Barbara Laster Schoen departed this life at the age of 77, and started her Eternal Life with our Lord on Monday, April 18, 2016. After a dignified battle with leukemia, she passed into Heaven surrounded by her loving daughters, and in the comfort of her own home in South Carolina.
Barbara is survived by her daughters Lorraine E. Schoen (married to Donald G. Sniff), Susan F. Schoen and Stephanie A. Schoen. She is the loving grandmother to Hashi S. Breeding and Stephen H. Worner. She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Maxine Somme’, and many other relatives.
Barbara was born in a very small town in Oklahoma. She moved to New Orleans, Louisiana as a young child. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy, maintaining these friendship throughout her life.
Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Levine Cancer Institute of Charlotte, NC, Community Care Hospice of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Mrs. Linda McCurley, her devoted friend and caregiver.
