Barbara L. Green, 79, of Jacksonville, IL died Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born June 26, 1931 in New Madrid County, MO; the daughter of Cecil and Lavieta Watson Deem. She married Robert B. Green on May 11, 1951, in Wood River, IL and he survives.

She is also survived by four sons, Robert M. Green of Salem, CT, Marvin P. Green (wife, Della) of Holliday, TN, Randal L. Green (wife, Michelle) of St. Peters, MO, and Neal E. Green (wife, Charlene) of Pacific, MO; eight grandchildren, Sean, Shannon, William, Aaron, Randie Lynn, Amber, Alissa, and Katie; three great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Graeme, and Gavin; a brother, Robert Deem (wife, Mary) of Troy, OH; two sisters, Charlotte Darber (husband, Don) of Magnolia, TX and Chelita Blake (husband, Joe) of Park Hills, MO; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Terry K. Green (surviving wife, Debby of Heath, OH).

Mrs. Green was a 1949 graduate of Wood River Township High School and a 1972 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She was a business teacher at Jacksonville High School, retiring in 1992. While at JHS, she served as sponsor of the Future Business Leaders of America. She was formerly active as a volunteer with Boy Scouts. She enjoyed music, camping, travel, and spending time with her family.
