Barbara M Koons, 69, resident of Silver City, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Gila Regional Medical Center.
Barbara was born February 2, 1942 in McKeesport, PA to Alice Jack and George Morgan. She married Gerald Koons March 17, 1966. Following her service from the Air Force, she worked as a registered nurse in Grant County. She was a member of the Grant County Rolling Stone Gem and Mineral Society.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald; mother, Alice; 2 sons, Scott Koons (Charla), Zuni, NM and Peter Koons, (Kim), Spring Creek, NV; a daughter, Susan Kula (Andy), Madison, AL; 3 sisters, Becky Corbin, Beverly Gross and Janet Smith and 6 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, George.
