Barbara Kay Little, 62, of Virginia, IL, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO.
She was born March 11, 1959, in Rushville, the daughter of Roy and Mildred Mitchell McMurl. She married David E. Little on Sept. 4, 1998, at the Virginia United Methodist Church, and he survives.
She is also survived by two children, Cody Little and April Foster, both of Virginia; two step-children, Lisa Little of Springfield, and Cindi (Chris) Cooley of Jacksonville; ten grandchildren, Thomas “T.J.” Little, Jason Little, Mason Little, Brantley Little, Amare Little, Lee Little, Justice Little, Krista Jo Baker, Jonathan Baker, and Christopher “C.J.” Cooley; and five sisters, Lisa McMurl, Linda Britt, both of North Carolina, Susie Neves of South Jacksonville, Neveda McClallen of Goodfield, and Millie Ann McMurl of Roodhouse. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Charles W. McMurl.
Mrs. Little had worked for Mobil Chemical in Jacksonville from 1978 – 1996. She then was a cook for Virginia United Methodist Church Daycare until 2003. At that time, she and her husband David purchased Little Man Heating and AC in Virginia, where she served as bookkeeper until her passing. She loved to read, sew, and quilt. She also loved to fish and especially enjoyed being outdoors.
