Barbara (Karnasiewicz) Garych died surrounded as always by the love of her children on December 30, 2020. She was born and raised in New Britain, the daughter of the late Stanley and Stefania “Stella” (Koziatek) Karnasiewicz. Mrs. Garych met the love of her life, Lawrence (Grzeszczyk) Garych at the age of 16 while they both worked in Lech’s grocery store in New Britain and were married in Holy Cross Church in 1953. The Garychs moved to Yorktown Heights, New York in 1958 where they lived for 57 years. They were active in St. Patrick’s Church, singing in the choir for many years. They also belonged to the West Turners Square Dancing Club, and Mrs. Garych was a member of “The Master Singers Choir.” Along with various volunteer activities, Mrs. Garych worked at Strang Middle School where she remained until retiring in 1995.
