Barbara J. Schrader of Carlyle died Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center at the age of 78 years. Barbara was born in Pennsylvania on February 13, 1934, the daughter of David Forrest and Jacklyn (Anderson) Hawthorne. Barb married Clifford “Kip” Schrader on August 5, 1957 in Greenville, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1995.
Barb is survived by her daughter: Pat Hellmann and husband Paul of Bartelso; two grandchildren: Matthew and Emily Hellmann; and three sisters: Jnean Bonner and husband Richard of Castle Rock, Colorado, Carole Hawthorne of San Francisco, California, and Veneta Flippin and husband Tom of Las Vegas, Nevada. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother: Robert Hawthorne. Barb was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle and various circles at the church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Barb was a Case Worker with the Illinois Department of Public Aid for many years and belonged to a number of women’s groups.
